About MemoryMaps
A personal atlas of where you’ve been, what happened there, and the people you shared it with.
Our mission
Place is the missing axis of social. Where something happened belongs alongside what happened. We’re building a social platform around the geography of your life so the photos and videos you already capture become a living map of your story.
Every memory pins to a location. Every adventure is a guided flight through your favorite places. Every friend you follow adds to a shared world atlas you can wander.
How it works
Four small steps. The map does the rest.
Capture
Take a photo or video on your phone. The location is read straight from the file.
Map
It pins to your personal map automatically. Every memory has its own place.
Adventure
String memories together into animated guided tours through the places you love.
Share
Public, followers-only, private, or delayed. You choose who sees what and when.
Why MemoryMaps
What we believe and what we won’t do.
Privacy-respecting
No ads. No data sale. Photo metadata is stripped before storage. Block, mute, and visibility controls work everywhere.
Built for memory
Animated adventures, On This Day flashbacks, and 24-hour stories let you both relive moments and share them in the moment.
Open beta
Free to start. We listen to feedback and ship weekly. The product you join shapes the product everyone gets.
Built by a small team
MemoryMaps is built by a small group of people who care about location, memory, and craft software. We sweat details that most apps skip: thumbnail caching, offline behavior, map performance at thousands of pins, the way a transition feels in your hand. We move fast, take feedback seriously, and iterate in public.
We’re self-funded. Our incentives stay aligned with the people using the product instead of advertisers buying access to them.
What’s next
The mobile app is in active development. We’re working on Yearly Wrapped to recap your travels, profile redesigns that put the map first, and Premium for power users who want 4K video and a subscriber badge. The feed gets smarter every week as the discovery model improves.
